While JCB customer Leo Mahon is the brains of the operation today, JCB has provided the brawn through every era of the farm’s history.
We’re proud that a JCB Loadall has played a part in Leo and his families agricultural journey, supporting them through every era of their farm.
A legacy built on trust, powered by Loadall
Three generations of Mahons have been agricultural farmers and contractors, growing a wide range of combinable crops and undertaking a variety of agricultural contracting roles.
The business was started in 1963 by Leo’s grandfather, James Mahon, and then it was passed down to his three sons, Leo’s father and his two brothers. Now, Leo works alongside his brother and his cousin, something that they have done for as long as he can remember.
Leo has “always had JCBs around the farm, whether it’s been excavators or JCB Loadalls” – they are a key part of farm life.
From first Loadall to future-ready machines
JCB has an outstanding legacy of creating agricultural machines that can help farmers do more than ever before – and Leo’s story shows that.
Leo remembers “sitting on our first Loadall, behind my father when he was alive whilst he was doing jobs around the farm.” What started as a bond over the fun of farmwork turned into a cornerstone of Leo’s career.
We’re always aiming for quality and world-class innovation that stands the test of time. Leo knows how the JCB Loadall Telehandler is regularly improving to help every new generation of farmers go further. “It’s fascinating to watch the product evolve from when I was a kid, watching these loaders and excavators around the farm, to where they are now.”
