How deep can an earth auger drill?
It depends on the drill! Earth augers can be used for a variety of drilling tasks, with each product designed to work with specific materials and terrains.
At JCB, we manufacture earth drills specifically to be used alongside our:
Compact excavators
Heavy excavators
Hydradigs
Backhoes
Skid steers
The depth of drilling varies on the equipment used. To find exact technical specifications of each earth auger, please refer to our JCB Attachments guide.
What is a compaction roller used for?
Compaction means to force liquid and gases out of a material and make smaller particles to fill the voids in between bigger ones to increase the density of the material.
As a result, compaction rollers can be used to compact either soil or asphalt with the aim of increasing load bearing capacity, reducing settling of the material, providing better stability, and decreasing water seepage.
Compaction rollers are the umbrella term for different types of rollers that work in slightly different ways, such as tandem rollers and soil compactors.
How long do the electric scissors take to charge?
A full charge takes approximately 8 hours.
What can I do to maximise the life of my engine?
The engine life can be maximised by following the JCB maintenance schedule and servicing using genuine JCB parts and lubricants. Over time, JCB engines can also be overhauled and rebuilt to extend their working life.
What charger is fitted with JCB electric scissors?
The electric scissors are fitted with a GPD 750W/30A high frequency sealed charger.
What is the battery run time?
The battery pack will last for the equivalent to a full day's work, subject to the type of application.
What applications can be powered by a JCB engine?
Almost any off-highway application can be supported. Our sales and applications team are here to support the selection of the right engine for the right application.
If my engine is left idling, or operated under light load will it damage the engine?
Yes, prolonged periods of low engine load can damage the engine and may cause glazing to the bores. For Tier 4 engines you could prematurely poison the SCR cannister and on Stage V engines you could significantly block the DPF.
What does the engine rating mean?
The engine rating is the maximum mechanical power output of the engine. There is no limit to how long JCB engines can operate at full rated power for, however the recommended duty cycle is an average of 75% of rated power.
What are the power ratings of the JCB engine range?
JCB engines are available in many different power ratings and emissions levels, from 55kW to 212kW (74-284hp). Emissions levels range from UNII through to EU Stage V with Tier 4 certification for the US.
