What is Stage V?
Stage V is the sixth in a series of legislative stages which began in 1996, to reduce the following pollutants:
- NOx: Nitrogen Oxides
- PM: Particulate Matter
- CO: Carbon Monoxide
- HC: Hydrocarbons
The key changes for Stage V are reductions in particulate mass by approximately 40% and the introduction of particulate count.
What is an IPU engine?
IPU is an acronym for Industrial Power Unit. The IPU products include everything that the OEM base engine includes plus a fan, radiator cooling pack, air induction system and associated mounts and brackets.
Why Stage V engines?
EU Stage V is the latest stage of engine emissions legislation designed to reduce pollution from off-highways machines, affecting European territories only. In order to meet these guidelines, Autostop and DPF has been introduced across all applicable models.
What specifications of fuels and lubricants are required for a JCB engine?
Recommended fluids vary depending on the engine type, environment and application. Consult your JCB engine distributor or JCB machine dealer for more information.
Where do I find the engine serial number?
The JCB engine serial number is printed on the engine emissions labels, which are positioned at the top of the rocker cover, and on the hot side of the engine block.
Where are JCB engines manufactured?
JCB engines are built in the state-of-the-art JCB engine factory in Derbyshire, UK.
What is Autostop?
Autostop helps reduce fuel consumption by automatically shutting down the machine when not in use as well as preventing excessive idle times, which reduce machine clock hours. It is operator configurable using the easy to use intuitive interface, allowing working patterns to be taken into consideration.
What is a G-Drive engine?
A G-Drive engine is a generator specification engine with a similar assembly to an IPU engine. The G-Drive products include everything that the OEM Base engines include, plus a fan, radiator cooling pack, air induction system and associated mounts and brackets.
What is a base engine?
A JCB base engine will compromise of an engine with basic ancillaries such as alternator and belt drive, as well as engine aftertreatment (where applicable).
Is there wheelchair access?
JCB is a wheelchair friendly site, however your Tour Guide is responsible for the welfare of the entire group and as such, we ask anybody in a wheelchair to organise their own assistance within the group, if they are unable to manoeuvre themselves.
