We’ve developed the JCB Pothole Pro to be fully compliant with road regulations, even when equipped with attachments. Where some other JCB wheeled excavators reach top speeds of 30kph or slightly lower, pothole pro has a top speed of 40kph to move faster between jobs and travel safely alongside other traffic. Plus, its 4-wheel steer provides unrivalled manoeuvrability for work on smaller, tighter roads.

With its unrivalled efficiency and versatility, the Pothole Pro is capable of repairing defects of up to 250m² per day. Productivity is one of the key features of this specialist machine and it can repair a typical pothole in just 8 minutes. 

The JCB Pothole Pro is such an effective choice because of its incredible versatility. It’s equipped with a lower skid steer hitch and a steel wrist on the dig end making it compatible with over 150 attachments - including buckets for park and garden maintenance, or forks for material handling. It may be a JCB pothole machine, but it’s capable of much more than repairing potholes. It’s a machine that can handle hedge trimming, ditching, load bearing and even winter maintenance. This makes the Pothole Pro ideal for local authorities, as it’s an investment for many different types of tasks. 

The exact number of people needed to complete a pothole repair using the Pothole Pro depends on the area being covered and the municipality. However on average, it usually involves around 4 individuals. Preparation using the JCB Pothole Pro requires only one operator, then the reinstatement team will follow up. This means this type of machine can get the job done without a large team or additional manpower.

A purchase of the JCB Pothole Pro includes all the necessary attachments – the planer, cropping tool and sweeper. To ensure the Pothole Pro is always operated safely and effectively, you’ll also receive specialist training for up to two operators – giving them the expertise to use the JCB Pothole Machine to it’s full potential. And to give our customers that extra peace of mind the Pothole Pro from JCB is covered with a five-year or 4,000 hour warranty.

The JCB Pothole Pro features a 600mm planer, which is ideal for work in most standard environments. This planer can side shift, meaning it can handle wider patches with ease and easily plane against the roadside curb. Awkward or smaller repairs are no problem with this JCB pothole machine either – the hydraulic depth control helps improve operator accuracy and performance.

It is possible to use a planer on the dig end of JCB Pothole Pro, but it’s not as efficient as using the lower hitch planer. The high-performance 600mm planer fitted to this machine is easily adjustable and side shifts to plane against the roadside curb. And with hydraulic depth control incorporated into the planer too, the Pothole Pro from JCB improves accuracy and performance.

The JCB Pothole Pro works alongside asphalt machinery to complete the reinstatement work using standard asphalt, hot rolled asphalt or concrete. The choice of material is dependent on a range of factors including the extent of the damage, the level of traffic, climate conditions and budget considerations. But whichever material the project requires, you can be sure the specially adapted Pothole Pro will deliver the same efficiency and high standards on every repair. 

Yes – the Pothole Pro from JCB features a 1200mm wide sweeper complete with dust suppression. A water tank in both the planer and the sweeper forms the dust suppression system, which limits the dust produced by the Pothole Pro. This results in safer working conditions for staff and the general public, so the JCB pothole machine  can be used in congested urban areas. 

The JCB Pothole Pro is much more than a JCB Hydradig with additional attachments – it’s a machine specially designed for pothole repair. It underwent a 2-year development process to obtain all the necessary software, hitches and hydraulics to power the attachments.
