What are vibratory rollers used for?

Because of their ability to achieve compaction depth, vibratory rollers are predominantly used for asphalt compaction. Or, for when fully smooth surfaces need to be created.

Due to their size, smaller vibratory rollers can be used to enable compaction depth on soil in compact spaces.

What are the uses of construction rollers?

Construction rollers are used for constructing materials such as soil, asphalt and gravel.

The material can be compacted using static roller compaction to provide surface works, or dynamic roller compaction (vibratory), to provide compaction depth and prepare surfaces for construction. As a result, construction rollers can be used for the construction of roads, railways, airports, buildings, bridges, sports pitches and foot paths.

What is a road roller weight in kg?

Road rollers include different machines under the compact roller umbrella, such as tandem rollers, combination rollers and soil compactors.

JCB's road roller specifications are:

Soil compactors: 7 - 21 ton

Tandem rollers: 1 - 5 ton

What is a tandem roller?

Tandem rollers have two smooth steel drums - one in the front and one in the back. This makes them ideal for compacting asphalt and means they can work extremly efficiently. As a result, JCB tandem rollers are designed to compact area, not volume, meaning they can flatten and pave large sections of road quickly.

However, tandem rollers can also be used to compact soil. For example, they can be used to roll sports pitches.
