In January 2025, JCB celebrated the production of its one millionth Backhoe Loader, one of the most significant milestones in the company's history.

This is a unique machine which has two key functions; the backhoe refers to the hydraulic excavator arm and hinged bucket mounted on the rear of the machine. The machine is also equipped with a regular loading shovel at the front of the machine, hence being called the "backhoe loader".

The JCB 1CX is the World's first skid steer backhoe and the smallest backhoe loader that JCB produces. At 3.57m in length, 1.8m wide, and 2.38m tall, it is a powerful and versatile machine.

The loader is located at the front of the machine and is designed to carry large quantities of materials with ease. It can undertake many applications such as loading, dozing, digging, grading, grabbing and spreading using the 6-in-1 shovel.
