What is a telehandler?
A telehandler - otherwise known as a telescopic handler - is a lifting machine equipped with a telescopic boom and a lifting attachment, allowing it to function as a forklift and a crane. This dual ability - combined with the fact many telehandlers can accommodate a variety of attachments - make it one of the most versatile machines on a site.
Where is the battery on a JCB Telehandler?
JCB's extensive range of telescopic handlers includes the all-electric 525-60E - part of the pioneering, zero-emissions JCB E-TECH range. This model is fitted with a 24kWh lithium-ion battery designed to last for a full day's work, which can be found under the engine bay bonnet on the right-hand side of the machine or chassis.
How much can a telehandler lift?
Telehandlers come in various shapes and sizes, with a range of lifting capacities that vary depending on the model and type. Typically, larger telehandlers can lift heavier loads. A telehandler’s maximum lift capacity decreases as its boom extends. Always select a machine that can lift more than your required weight to ensure safe and efficient operation. Can I use my 30-22E in poor weather conditions
Yes, the key electrical components are positioned and protected underneath the cab, which allows the machine to work in all weather conditions. The 35-22E has been designed to work both indoors and outdoors.
What is the difference between propane powered forklifts and electric?
Propane powered (LPG) forklifts operate in a similar way to diesel machines with internal combustion engines, except these are fuelled with propane rather than diesel.
Electric forklifts, like JCB's 30-19E Electric Teletruk and Teletruk Electric Wastemaster, operate using a lead-acid GNB/Exide Marathon Classic heavy duty 80 volt, 625ah or Heavier Duty GNB 60ah Battery - which provides outstanding performance.

What are the JCB tiltrotator benefits?

What are the insurance implications?
Operators planning to use a VSO to tow trailers should contact their insurers and advise they are doing so. JCB cannot comment on what the insurers may or may not do regarding insurance premiums.

What are the gross weight, age and license implications?
There is no gross weight specified, limits will be based on your license categories and the amount you are permitted to tow.
The minimum requirement for driving engineering plant on the road is a cat B full driving license.
Towing entitlement is based on when you obtained your license or additional tests taken.

Should I consider marking the trailer and machine?
To help avoid road users unintentionally trying to overtake the towed vehicle not realising it is being towed, it may be worth considering marking the machine and trailer. This could include slow vehicle stickers and/or vehicle towing signage. If the vehicle and trailer combination is over 16.5 metres operators should use the 'Convoi Exceptionnel' sign.
