JCB JS131 TRACKED EXCAVATOR AWARDED FOR LOWEST COST OF OWNERSHIP

JS131 Excavator Low Cost of Ownership Press Release 2.27.19

The JCB JS131 tracked excavator has received a 2019 EquipmentWatch Lowest Cost of Ownership Award. The award recognizes the JCB JS131 as having the lowest five-year total cost of ownership of all medium-sized tracked excavators sold in North America, sized between 13,448 lb (6,100 kg) to 46,297 lb (21,000 kg).

Garrett Schemmel, vice president at EquipmentWatch, explained the annual awards help buyers understand the best performing machines.

“The program is also designed to recognize manufacturers for building these higher quality, durable, and cost-friendly machines that power our industry,” said Schemmel.

The JCB JS131 is the only 30,000 lb excavator in North America that requires no diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), no replacable diesel particulate filter (DPF) and no other aftertreatment. This eliminates the hassle and expense of properly maintaining the aftertreatment system and the need for productivity-sapping engine regeneration procedures. Further reducing the cost of ownership, the JS131 is built to withstand the most demanding construction or rental applications. “JCB excavators are designed to maximize earning potential for customers on residential, commercial and rail construction projects, and in rental operations,” said Ashby Graham, general manager of product for JCB North America. “The 2019 Lowest Cost of Ownership Award highlights an important benefit for JCB owners and will help new customers better understand how JCB excavators can contribute to the profitability of their business.”

JCB offers five medium-sized tracked excavator models for construction and rental customers in the U.S. and Canada, from 31,499 lb (14,038 kg) to 46,793 lb (21,225 kg). The range includes reduced tailswing or best-in-class conventional tailswing models, each offering exceptional visibility to mitigate the likelihood of impact damage to buildings, equipment and machines. In addition to medium-sized tracked excavators, JCB offers four heavy tracked excavator models, with operating weights from 54,031 lb (24,508 kg) to 84,596 lb (38,372 kg) and 13 compact and mini excavators, with operating weights from 3,856 lb (1,749 kg) to 21,457 lb (9,733 kg).
