The JCB JS131 tracked excavator has received a 2019 EquipmentWatch Lowest Cost of Ownership Award. The award recognizes the JCB JS131 as having the lowest five-year total cost of ownership of all medium-sized tracked excavators sold in North America, sized between 13,448 lb (6,100 kg) to 46,297 lb (21,000 kg).
Garrett Schemmel, vice president at EquipmentWatch, explained the annual awards help buyers understand the best performing machines.

The JCB JS131 is the only 30,000 lb excavator in North America that requires no diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), no replacable diesel particulate filter (DPF) and no other aftertreatment. This eliminates the hassle and expense of properly maintaining the aftertreatment system and the need for productivity-sapping engine regeneration procedures.
