Installation of 4 x 2280kVA Diesel Generators

JCB Broadcrown designs and implements power projects from start to finish, working closely with consultants, contractors, data centre providers and property investment companies, to undertake even the most complex of bespoke projects.

Located in the UK, Broadcrown was established in 1976 as an independent manufacturer of generators, and for over 40 years the business has grown the experience, skills, technology and manufacturing base to supply and support complete power generation systems.

In 2015 JCB acquired the Broadcrown business to significantly extend its range of power generators, engineering, installation and commissioning capability and outstanding generator aftermarket care. Today JCB Broadcrown supplies the complete JCB generator range from 6kVA to 3.3MVA, together with the highest quality components to meet the requirements of any project, both large and small.

Outstanding Engineering

As a global leader in the industry, JCB Broadcrown offers customers the most up to date technical know-how in the industry.  Our elite engineers design, build, install and commission. We will engineer the project, select and procure the equipment and carry out the construction from the ground up to support each power project. Quality drives every aspect of our designs, and we only use superior components; not just in the generator sets, but also the associated equipment, such as skid bases, fuel handling, noise attenuation, exhaust installations and control systems.

Consultancy and Tendering

JCB’s unique support often begins right at the beginning of any project. We provide comprehensive consultancy and tendering support to consultants and contractors with an aim to offer advice and guidance that is optimised to complement each client’s specific needs.

We work in partnership with our clients to determine the best approach for each project. This not only includes the generator and its supporting infrastructure of fuel, air flows, exhaust and sound, but also the logistics and installation process. We use the most up to date systems and processes to incorporate our design with that of other site contractors and suppliers to ensure a smooth build process and reduced assembly and installation costs. Our engineers can look at a project and advise our clients of the best approach, extending JCB Broadcrown’s personalised and detailed guidance, which could prove crucial at the all-important initial tender stage.

Installation

JCB Broadcrown can provide a full installation service anywhere in the world. Our mechanical and electrical installation teams are fully trained and equipped to undertake the most challenging of power generation and control system installations.  When the scheduled date for installation arrives, JCB Broadcrown’s in-house team will organise the logistics and operations to deliver the solution on time.

Commissioning and Test

Our dedicated engineers fully assemble all generators to test at our works in Hixon. The sets and the system are tested to ensure regulations, standards and client requirements are met and also to ensure integration with any existing site systems is seamless.

Once on site the generators will be tested as standalone units to ensure each generator is performing to the required specification. When the power system has been fully installed, our team of dedicated engineers will carry out on site testing in consultation with the customers and clients to guarantee the whole system, including the ancillary support devices, is performing to the required specification.

Service and Support

JCB Broadcrown Service will support all makes and models of generators to maintain operation and ensure optimal efficiency. Our fully trained engineers offer a constant level of support tailored to suit each of our clients’ needs, with generator maintenance and parts spares available 24/7 for extra peace of mind.  Operation and maintenance contracts can be configured for the exact power project, so no matter how big a project, we can provide a lifetime of care.

Project: St Bartholomew's Hospital

JCB Broadcrown completed a significant design, manufacture and installation project, to deliver critical power supply back up generators to the recently constructed St Bartholomew's Hospital in London.

The contract, worth more than £2 million, comprises four synchronised Cummins-powered standby generators that can instantly deliver up to 7000kVA of potentially life saving electrical power when required.
