What's the difference: Monoboom vs TAB

When you’re looking for the perfect machine for the job, it’s important to know the difference between these two key features.

Monoboom

A Monoboom gives a higher lift capacity when excavating ‘at reach’. It also features a deeper dig depth and maximum vertical wall cut depth.

Triple Articulated Boom (TAB)

A TAB delivers superior lifting and craning with a longer dig reach and a higher dump height. It has a smaller front swing radius of 2206 mm with a 3.0 dipper arm which gives it a higher lift capacity when lifting ‘close in’.

George Leslie has been buying JCB equipment for over 50 years. The new JCB 245XR is performing extremely well and has driven the order for more of these impressive models. Our operators find the machine really smooth to operate, with plenty of digging power, reach and stability, even when working over the side with this reduced tailswing machine.
