All of our Undergraduate programmes pay a competitive salary and offer accommodation support for the duration of the placement, if required.

Undergraduate Summer Placement

Applications now closed for 2018

A Summer Placement at JCB provides the opportunity to be gain practical experience in an area of the business.  Individuals will typically complete one or two project based tasks during the summer placement.  After a one day induction which provides an insight into the Company history, the Global nature of our business and relevant health & safety training, you will become an integral part of our team.

Please note – all summer placements will commence mid-June 2018 and conclude at the end of August 2018. They will also include a three week holiday in line with our factory shutdown commencing 23rd July.

Entry Requirements

You will be in the second or third year of appropriate bachelors or masters programmes and be achieving a 2:1 or above. For those who excel, this could lead to consideration for our undergraduate or graduate programmes. You must also demonstrate a passionate interest in your area of study and must show a ‘can do’ attitude and also a drive to succeed.

Year In Industry

JCB recognise that nurturing the finest talent is the key to business success. We offer support for talented individuals who wish to launch their careers and gain invaluable work experience. The year placement, commencing in September, gives students a full business induction and opportunity to experience three tailored placements across our UK business. Successful candidates will also be involved in community based activities & education STEM activities as part of the scheme, plus candidates will produce a group business project.

Those who are successful can expect to receive a bursary of £1500 per year whilst at University and develop a detailed understanding of a global off highway machine engineering and manufacturing business. We also offer a further summer placement for students undertaking a MEng course where appropriate. For those who excel, this could lead to a direct entry graduate level role within our global organisation on graduation.

Entry Requirements

Candidates applying for the Undergraduate Scheme will be in the second or third year of an appropriate bachelors or masters programme. They should be on track for a 2:1 or above and must have a further year of study ahead of them after the placement.  You must also demonstrate a passionate interest in your area of study and must show a ‘can do’ attitude and also a drive to succeed.
