JCB Contractor Breakers

Ground breaking performance

With the addition of new models for 1-10 tonne carrier machines, JCB contractor breakers now deliver performance, durability and efficiency across the toughest applications for models spanning from 1-60-tonnes.

Whether it is breaking out reinforced concrete, tackling hard rock or preparing ground for the next phase of construction, hydraulic breakers are often called in when nothing else will do. In these environments, performance is only part of the story. Reliability, control and protection of the carrier machine are just as critical.

That is where the JCB contractor breaker range has always come into its own. And now, with the launch of breakers purpose built for 1-10-tonne carrier machines, that same destructive performance can be delivered on sites where more compact equipment is necessary.

When the Going Gets Tough

The JCB contractor breaker range from JCB Attachments is designed to deliver high performance and durability across construction, demolition and quarrying applications.

Comprising 14 models, the range is now compatible with carrier machines from 1 to 60 tonnes. Each breaker is extensively tested and matched to work seamlessly with JCB excavators, Backhoe Loaders and compact equipment, ensuring the correct hydraulic flow, pressure and fitment. The breakers are also compatible with other brands of excavator and tool carrier, making them a flexible solution for mixed fleets.

For operators, that means consistent performance in demanding conditions - and confidence that the attachment is working in harmony with the machine.

As JCB Attachments Business Head Daniel Glenister explains: “JCB contractor breaker are designed to work as part of a complete machine and attachment package, ensuring compatibility and consistent performance on site.

“Features such as internal control valves, accumulators and auto-stop functionality improve efficiency and protect both the breaker and the carrier machine. For contractors and rental businesses, the range offers a practical solution with the durability, ease of use and support expected of a genuine JCB product.”

Engineered for Endurance

In high-impact applications, durability is everything. The larger contractor breakers are equipped with accumulators, helping to protect the carrier machine from hydraulic pressure spikes and reducing wear on the hydraulic system. Models for machines of 8 tonnes and above feature a refillable auto greasing system as standard, ensuring the breaker receives the correct level of lubrication throughout the working day. This helps minimise downtime and maintain productivity.

Further design features have been introduced to extend component life and reduce maintenance requirements. Twin oval tool retaining pins on heavier models deliver double the life of a standard pin, as they can be rotated to wear on both sides, while smaller breakers use a single tool retainer.

Two-speed control valves allow operators to adjust tool speed and stroke length depending on the material being broken. This not only improves efficiency but also reduces the risk of unnecessary wear to both the breaker and the carrier machine.

Internal control valves improve oil flow and reduce heat build-up within the system, helping to protect internal seals and lower maintenance demands. Heavier models also include blank firing protection, further reducing the potential for damage during operation.

Ready to Work

Ease of use and consistency across the range are key considerations, particularly for rental fleets and contractors managing multiple machines.

JCB contractor breakers use a single scaled design with the same maintenance requirements across all models. This simplifies servicing and allows dealer and workshop teams to work efficiently across the entire range.

Breakers are supplied ready to work, with hoses, hanger brackets and tools included on applicable models. A range of working tools - including moils, chisels and blunt tools - allows each breaker to be configured for specific applications, from precision demolition to bulk material breaking.

The range includes top mount, side mount and universal configurations, giving customers the flexibility to match the attachment to their machine and working environment. Universal options are also available without hanger brackets or hoses for use across mixed fleets.

Final assembly takes place in the UK and the breakers are backed by a three-year manufacturer warranty, providing additional peace of mind.

Breaking Power That Lasts

On site, a breaker is more than just an attachment - it is a critical tool that needs to perform consistently, day in and day out. By combining durability, ease of use and machine protection, the JCB contractor breaker range is designed to deliver exactly that. And now, these critical tools, performance matched to more compact machines than ever before, can bring that performance to more sites than ever before too.

Because when the job calls for serious breaking power, it pays to have equipment that is built to go the distance.
