What are the different types of roller compaction method?

There are two primary methods of compaction used to flatten the ground: either static or vibratory force.

Static compaction (without vibration): Static compaction tools use the machine's weight to flatten the earth below it, meaning this method is ideal for surface works that don't need to achieve compaction depth. For this reason, static compaction can be referred to as "ironing" on asphalt.

Dynamic compaction (with vibration): Dynamic compaction tools vibrate to produce impact that compress the soil, meaning this method is ideal for achieving compaction depth.
