With its latest deal for 40 new JCB machines, including a full line-up of zero tailswing compact excavators, the company is proving once again that embracing new technology is key to staying ahead.

The company’s newest additions include the JCB 25Z-1, 50Z-2 and 90Z-2 zero tailswing models, chosen specifically to meet growing customer demand for machines that offer full capability in tight spaces. Supplied by long-term dealer partner Holt JCB, the investment reinforces Rocket Rentals’ continued commitment to offering the right machine, at the right time, for every customer and job.

Putting the customer first

“In this latest order we chose the 25Z-1, 50Z-2 and 90Z-2 models as we try and run zero tailswing whenever we can. It’s what more and more customers are asking for – and we’re now able to offer zero swing options from 1-tonne all the way up to 9-tonne models.”

Simon Tomblin | Rocket Rentals Managing Director

That flexibility is key to Rocket Rentals’ approach. From private driveway projects to large civil engineering schemes, they cater to a wide range of clients and the machines need to match. Zero tailswing models reduce the risk of accidental damage, offer easier operation in tight spaces, and maximise productivity in confined or urban job sites.

But for Rocket Rentals, new machines are only ever added with purpose and always with the customer in mind.

Built on partnership

While the business continues to evolve, some constants remain. One is the strong relationship with JCB and Holt JCB, a partnership based on mutual understanding, product reliability and unbeatable service.

“We like that JCB is a family-owned, British manufacturer with a fantastic dealer network,” says Simon. “Our relationship with Holt JCB is one of the reasons we choose JCB. The level of service we receive is outstanding, and they truly understand our business and our needs.

“When you think of British equipment, you think of JCB. And with finance and insurance all available in one place, it makes JCB a smart and sensible choice.”

That close working relationship ensures Rocket Rentals can scale its fleet quickly and confidently, knowing the support is there from pre-sale advice through to aftercare.

Today, Rocket Rentals operates a diverse fleet of JCB machines – from 1-tonne micros to 25-tonne excavators, alongside dumpers, rollers, Loadalls, skid steers, generators and more. Every investment is made with long-term performance in mind.

Embracing technology

Rocket Rentals has always had an eye on innovation. Back in 2015, the company made headlines for investing in JCB machines that met emissions regulations without requiring diesel particulate filters, a move that significantly reduced customer downtime and operating costs.

That same year, they were one of the first to adopt JCB’s LiveLink telematics system, using it not just for basic tracking, but as a full-service fleet management tool.

“We really maximise all its features,” says Simon. “It proves an excellent tool – not just for monitoring machine performance and service requirements, but also ensuring our equipment is where it should be at all times. It’s about staying in control and staying informed.

“Innovation doesn’t mean buying flashy tech for the sake of it. It means choosing the right machines that make our customers’ lives easier – and backing them up with reliable service and smart thinking. That’s why we stick with JCB.”

Looking forward

With its growing fleet of zero tailswing models, Rocket Rentals is well positioned to meet the demands of modern worksites. Especially where space is limited and performance can’t be compromised.

The company’s recent additions, including the new CT430-140 tandem vibratory roller and expanded X Series excavator range, continue to strengthen its line-up and cement its reputation as the go-to plant hire partner across Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.
