Less than one year after its launch, the JCB Teleskid skid steer and compact track loader has won a sixth industry award for quality and innovation, making it the most awarded skid steer in history. The JCB Teleskid is the world’s first and only skid steer and compact track loader with a telescopic boom, allowing it to lift higher and reach further than any skid steer on the market. It is also the only skid steer that can dig below ground level.

Designed and built at JCB North America headquarters in Savannah, the Teleskid was launched in March 2017 at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG construction trade show and has since received the following industry awards:

• Gold Award: 2017 Innovative Product Awards by Rental Equipment Register magazine.
• 2017 Editor’s Choice Award by Rental magazine.
• Most Innovative Loader of the Year, by Compact Equipment magazine.
• Top 100 Products of 2017 Award, by Construction Equipment magazine.
• Twenty for 2017 Award, by Landscape & Irrigation magazine.
• Innovation Award at the SPACE 2017 international agricultural trade fair, France.

“JCB introduced more than 20 new construction and agriculture machines in 2017, and while each has been a success in its own right, the Teleskid has revolutionized an entire product category,” said Richard Fox-Marrs, president and CEO of JCB North America. “The industry accolades recognize the design innovation and manufacturing quality of Teleskid, but ultimately it is JCB customers who win. With lift, reach and dig capabilities that far exceed conventional skid steer machines, Teleskid operators can perform a wider variety of tasks with greater efficiency, to achieve significant improvements in productivity and profitability.”

The single-arm, telescopic boom on the JCB Teleskid provides over 13 feet of lift height, 8 feet of forward reach, and 3 feet of dig depth, enabling tasks not possible with a conventional skid steer, such as loading high-sided trucks without a ramp, reaching across a standard flatbed trailer and digging ditches. The boom design leverages the company’s 40 years experience in telescopic handler design, and more than 200,000 units sold worldwide.

Teleskid is also the only skid steer to combine the advantages of radial lift—for efficient excavating and grading—and vertical lift—for optimal lift capacity and height—in a single machine.

Teleskid features the iconic JCB skid steer side entry design, which allows safe and simple entry and exit via a full-size door on the left side of the cab, rather than having to climb over attachments or under an unsupported boom, as is necessary on twin-arm skid steers. Once inside, Teleskid operators enjoy the productivity benefits of a positive-pressure, climate-controlled cab that is 33 percent larger than industry average and offers 60 percent better visibility. Based on JCB’s proven large-platform skid steer design, the Teleskid is available in the 3TS-8W wheeled and 3TS-8T tracked models, with rated operating capacities of 3,208 pounds and 3,695 pounds, respectively.
