BMX RISING STAR SECURES JCB SUPPORT ON TRACK TO OLYMPIC BIKING AMBITIONS

BMX rising star donantion news

BMX biking champion Ruby Moores is celebrating her first national title win, with some extra support from digger giant JCB to help her on the track towards Olympic dreams.

The 12-year-old Ormiston Horizon Academy pupil from Goldenhill, Stoke-on-Trent was crowned UK BMX National Series Female 14 champion at the National Cycling Centre, Manchester, earlier this month.

And for Ruby, who has stepped up an age group, the win comes hot on the heels of an action packed summer which saw her claim 5th place in the World Junior Championships in Glasgow, in August.

Ruby, who started competitive BMX riding at the age of eight, celebrated her national win with a helping hand from Staffordshire-based JCB who donated £500 towards travel costs.

BMX is an expensive sport and the donation has come at the perfect time. Our biggest costs are travel and while this year has been great because the World Championships were on our doorstep in Glasgow, next year it’s in North Carolina, America, then two years after that it’s in Brisbane, Australia. We can’t thank JCB enough for this support, it really makes a difference.
