Graduate FAQs

Yes.  We will review your application against all the programmes you apply for.  If we think you are more suited to a particular programme, we will invite you for that assessment centre, but will review your results against your other areas of interest.

However, we are looking for people committed to an area of interest so don’t apply for a too diverse range of programmes.

If you are invited to an assessment centre, we will ask you to bring proof of your entitlement to work in the UK.  Unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor visas for our Graduate Programmes.

No, we do not use these as part of our shortlisting process.  We base our invite to assessment centre on the detail you provide in your application.

No, unfortunately we don't at this stage of the process.
At the start of each placement you agree your objectives with your Placement Manager.  At the end of the placement we hold a review with your Placement Manager and the Graduate Programme Leader.  During the review we discuss your performance against the objectives and how you feel you have developed.  We also discuss improvement areas to focus on in your future placements.

We understand it is important to have feedback to assist in your future applications.  When you request the feedback, we will arrange a suitable time and date to discuss the outcome.

Our 'Class of 2017' will all start in September 2017

You will be required to submit an application form, covering statement and CV.

Applications are reviewed by the Programme Leader and Senior Manager’s within the business.

For some programmes there will be a telephone interview prior to an assessment centre which consists of one-one interviews, group exercises, question papers and workshop exercises.

We aim to make a decision within 1 week of the assessment centre.

For some programmes there will be a second interview.

Following an offer of employment, there will be a familiarisation event to introduce you to the business.  Then a full 2 week induction programme with new graduates from all programmes.

We recruit people we believe will fit into the business and enjoy working for JCB, so your contract is permanent from day one.  When you complete your programme, you move into another role within the business and retain your length of service.

You will receive an email thanking you for your application shortly after you submit the form.  We endeavour to respond to each application within two weeks; however, as we receive hundreds of applications in can sometimes take longer than this.  We will contact you as soon as we can.

The assessment centres commence in November 2016 and they continue until February 2017.  However, once the programme places are full we will not hold any further assessment centres so it maybe earlier than this date.

Some of the programmes will close on 18h December 2016, however, others remain open until mid February. We advise you to apply as soon as possible as we may close the programmes earlier as places at the assessment centre are allocated on a first come first serve basis and when the programme is full we will not run further assessment events.
