We've pushed diesel to its limits, with machines that now emit 50% less CO₂ compared with those manufactured in 2010.
We've also reduced particulates (soot) by 90% and nitrogen oxides (NOx) by 97% versus 1999 levels.
JCB's efficient machines can reduce carbon today. All new JCB diesel engines are HVO (hydro-treated vegetable oil) compatible, which can deliver a valuable, more environmentally friendly option for a quick win. Known as green diesel, HVO is a viable alternative to its fossil fuel counterpart.

These engines are designed and engineered by a talented team of powertrain engineers, who have succeeded in developing he most fuel-efficient, high-performance engines that meet stringent European Stage V emissions standards (as well as U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final and India Bharat Stage IV emissions standards).

In October 2022, our latest engine development, the EU Stage V JCB 430 DIESELMAX was awarded Engine of the Year in the under 175hp category at the Diesel Progress Summit.
The JCB 430 DIESELMAX engine is 24% smaller and 30% lighter than its predecessor yet offers a 10% higher torque output.
