The North Balaton Regional Municipal Association for Solid Waste Management has purchased 10 specially-adapted JCB materials handling machines, to cope with increased demand at waste handling sites south-west of Budapest, Hungary. The order, supplied by JCB’s Central European dealer Terra Hungaria Epitogep, includes four Loadall 527-58 Wastemasters telehandlers, two 535-95 Loadalls and four TLT-30 forklifts, one powered by a diesel engine and three using low-emission LPG gas power.
The Wastemaster specification machines are equipped with screen guards to protect the operators and the machines from falling material, while reversible cooling fans help to maintain maximum engine cooling efficiency in dusty conditions. SG Revolution semi-solid tyres have also been specified, to eliminate the risk of punctures and to guarantee maximum uptime.
The Association’s modern waste treatment centres have been designed to handle waste from across the North Balaton region, incorporate sorting areas, mechanical treatment halls, biological stabilisation and separate drop-off areas.
The North Balaton Waste Management Project will benefit 300,000 people in the region, with the sites handling up to 120,000 tonnes of waste per year. State-of-the-art computerised measurement is being used to ensure that air quality is maintained and noise levels are kept to a minimum. Terra won the public procurement deal over two other manufacturers with competitive pricing, market-leading warrantees and the guarantee of total service support.
JCB equipment had already proven reliable in the construction of new waste plants in the North Balaton region, where two JCB 436HT wheeled loaders and a 531-70 Wastemaster telehandler have been working successfully for some time. With the addition of productive, specialist JCB waste handling machinery the Association can ensure that material is moved efficiently at all stages of the process within the sites.
The Loadall telehandlers are powered by JCB’s powerful Dieselmax engines, ensuring maximum productivity with low fuel consumption and reduced noise levels. JCB’s Wastemaster specification takes machine protection and operator safety to new levels, incorporating underbelly protection and light guards. Powerful hydraulic systems allow the Loadalls and fork lifts to work with a range of waste handling buckets and attachments, increasing versatility and maximising utilisation for the customer. They are also equipped with JCB’s LiveLink telematic system for constant real-time monitoring, guaranteeing maximum uptime.
