Machines involved in handling
Composting:
Whether ‘on farm’, ‘in vessel’ or on ‘open’ windrow
systems, specially designed JCB machines speed through
an array of tasks, making them a valuable asset to any
composting operation.
The unique JCB Fastrac with specialist attachments can
be employed for windrow turning, as well as being a
prime mover for haulage or simply moving the mobile
shredders around the facility.
Windrows can also be constructed and turned using
tracked or wheeled rehandlers. These highly efficient
machines offer exceptional cab comfort, and hydraulic
or fixed raised cabs offer improved visibility resulting in
a panoramic view for increased safety.
With attachments like buckets with top grabs and large
capacity buckets, JCB Loadalls and wheeled loaders are
very effective compost rehandlers. With a choice of
four-wheel or articulated steering for excellent
manoeuvrability, combined with impressive loadover
and lift performance, these machines are a common
sight in compost facilities the world over. They make
light work of windrow turning, stockpiling and
compost rehandling, while a quickhitch means
you can quickly change attachments for increased
versatility, utilisation and value to the business.
Using high-tip buckets or high-lift loader arms, JCB
wheeled loaders can also aid load out of the material,
quickly filling high-sided bulkers.
Moving on to the final stages of the composting process,
the Bagezee attachment fitted to a JCB Teletruk ensures
easy loading of 1-tonne builders’ merchant bags. This
unique machine offers up to 3.5-tonnes lift capability
with lift height capabilities of over 5 metres. For confined
sites it can load or unload trucks from one side, saving
time and space, and is even available with four-wheel
drive for sites with variable terrain.
Finally, sweeper collectors fitted to various machines
can be used to keep sites clean and safe at the end of
each day.
