Machines involved in handling
Tyres:
Once destined for landfill sites, tyre recycling is now big
business with millions of tyres being recycled worldwide
every year.
The rehandling of waste tyres can be achieved with a
number of different JCB machines. First, 360° wheeled
materials handlers equipped with a selector grab enable
easy picking and sorting for loading into shredders.
Specified with a hydraulic or fixed raised cab, visibility
is improved so the operator literally looks down into
the shredder for accurate material placement and
no overloading.
Then comes the JCB Loadall. Utilising a bucket or
forks with a top grab aids material retention, ensuring
maximum loads every time. Four-wheel steering
guarantees superb manoeuvrability even in the tightest
sites. Plus, load capacities from 2 tonnes up to 4 tonnes
and lift height capabilities from 4 metres to 17 metres
ensure there is a model to suit your rehandling and
loadover requirements.
JCB wheeled loaders are also excellent alternatives,
ranging from 1- to 5-cubic-metre capacity. For customers
who prefer a traditional articulated steered loader, these
machines offer superb operator visibility and comfort
with one of the best-appointed and spacious cabs
around today.
For unloading/loading closed containers, the ever-versatile
JCB Teletruk range offers carrying capacities of 2.5 to
3.5 tonnes. A unique design gives the machine a full
height capability of over 5 metres and, more importantly,
a ground level reach of up to 2 metres, allowing it to load
or unload a truck from one side. The Teletruk is also
small enough to access a closed container for unloading
incoming material.
Other alternatives include compact Loadalls and the
JCB skid steer. Again, compact dimensions enable
access to closed containers and high manoeuvrability
ensures the machines’ ability to work in even the most
confined conditions.
